My journey started with my own mental health

At the beginning of 2020, I started my own business, Nineteen80. After 15 years in the management consulting business, I removed my golden handcuffs and ventured out on my own.

I didn’t have a plan. I just knew that I needed to grow my own wings.

At the same time, I added a therapist to my team. I knew that starting my own business was also the path toward self-discovery. I needed to work on the man in the mirror before I tried to work on the world.

Little did I know that a global pandemic was already starting.

As the world began to fall apart and freeze in lock downs, I reallocated more resources toward my mental health. At the time, it wasn’t clear whether this was a two week event, or something else.

I’m shifting this blog away from my personal interests and focusing singularly on mental health.

I’m hoping to make my own experience transparent and normalize mental health as a badge of honor, not a mark of shame.
