I’m stepping back to work on me

I sent this letter to my cohousing community as I step back from the day-to-day interactions to focus on myself.

I’m stepping back from cohousing for a TBD* period of time. The pandemic 😷 forced me to face some past demons (it’s much more dramatic when said that way), and I need to step back to create space to work on myself. I’ve worked this through with Coco last night, the mechanics are being handled.

I’m surrounding myself with an amazing team of healers, therapists, naturopaths, and supporters**. My inner corporate America venture capitalist voice says “you’ve gone off the deep end, go back before it’s too late 🤮” and my true self says “stay in Wonderland, and let’s see how deep the rabbit hole goes.” (👈🏼 pop culture reference).

✋🏽 For now, I’d prefer not to talk about it. I’ve created a space to work on it.

I’ll continue to be here roughly half the time as before, and do physical work on the land on my own. I’ll say hi, smile, and wave (or do a monkey dance 🐒 if it so inspires me). Little Oliver is still here every other weekend to sift through the gravel on the paths and run around like Sonic.

With love 🖤

* I’ll share more on the TBD timeline when I know more.

** I also want to acknowledge the impact this has on my partner Terra. I’ve said some really bad things in hopes she’d just reject me and I can justify my actions. Instead, she continues to embrace me and stand by me. If you want to support me, hug Terra (following CDC health guidance on hugging protocols).
